Gielle is a leader in the maintenance and periodic inspection of cylinders and bundles of cylinders for compressed, dissolved and liquefied gases.
We are specialists in the periodic inspection and maintenance of all gas containers and pressure equipment. We use state-of-the-art instrumentation and carefully select our raw materials: a winning mix of quality materials, state-of-the-art instrumentation, experience and expertise.
Gielle offers itself as your partner in managing all issues relating to the mandatory periodic inspection of cylinders for the storage and transport of compressed gases.
Regulatory obligation for the periodic inspection of cylinders
Current regulations lay down very strict requirements to ensure the safe use of cylinders intended for the transport and storage of compressed, dissolved and liquefied gases.
Containers must therefore be accompanied by a certificate attesting their conformity with the regulations in force at the time of their manufacture. This certificate is drawn up by the cylinder manufacturer and must be kept by the owner of the cylinders until their disposal.
Furthermore, cylinders used for the storage and transport of compressed gases must be periodically inspected and requalified to ensure their safe use.
For this reason, containers must be periodically inspected and tested by authorised bodies: otherwise they may not be used or transported.
Periodic inspection and testing are an essential requirement for their continued use over time. The level of safety of a cylinder is generally excellent and is “the result of appropriate design, manufacture and subsequent maintenance processes”.
The inspection interval depends on the size and/or material of the container and on the gas it contains.
As a rule, all cylinders must be inspected every 10 years;
A positive outcome of the periodic inspection allows the inspected equipment to remain in service.
In addition to compliance consultancy, we also offer you all the related management and maintenance services for the periodic inspection of cylinders.
Our production process for the periodic inspection of cylinders and bundles of cylinders is certified and monitored according to the ADR standard by major European notified bodies.
Every container, valve and accessory, and every activity performed on them, is recorded, monitored and traced throughout the entire production process.
We can carry out the testing of cylinders for gas extinguishing systems with RINA, BV, ABS and INAIL certification.
Thanks to our production units and our local resources, we guarantee a presence throughout Italy.

Consultancy and training on the use of containers for compressed, liquefied and dissolved gases, and regulatory updates.
Cylinders are used for a wide variety of purposes and at critical temperatures. They are used in industry and in the food sector, in laboratories for pure gases, and in the medical field, as well as for diving.
The gases they contain can save human lives, and the cylinder containing them must always guarantee maximum reliability and safety.
This is why we offer tailored training, with courses on the use of gas containers and regulatory updates.
The courses are available both at our customers’ premises and directly at our own premises: training on cylinders, their correct use and every technical and regulatory aspect relating to them.

Qualified technical and regulatory consultancy
The pressure vessel management sector is governed by numerous laws that are constantly being updated.
Each context is subject to specific regulations: those for medical gases, those for transport, the food container sector, fire prevention regulations and so on.
Thanks to the extensive experience gained over many years of work, study, research and development, we have acquired an in-depth knowledge of the laws governing these sectors. We also have an extensive regulatory library at our disposal and maintain regular relations with Italian and European certification bodies and organisations, which allow us to exchange views systematically and thus always stay up to date.
We therefore see ourselves not only as a supplier of goods and services, but also, and above all, as a trusted technical consultant at our customers’ disposal.
Leak tests and high-pressure permeability tests
At the Customer’s request, we carry out special leak tests on containers and equipment, including with the aid of helium. We also carry out permeability tests using a precision gravimetric method for prototype testing of composite containers.
Management of cylinder scrapping and disposal
Even when containers no longer pass the inspection tests, and their presence becomes a burden and a waste to be got rid of, we can help our customers through the costly and sometimes difficult and unpleasant process of sending them to landfill.
We take care directly of turning containers no longer fit for circulation (including acetylene cylinders) into waste and of liaising with authorised companies specialising in the transport and treatment of waste in accordance with current national and international legislation.
