The R454B refrigerant gas is a hydro-olefin-based HFO refrigerant. It has ODP = 0 and a low GWP value of 466. This is 78% less than R410A. In addition, it is very close to R410A and in some cases even offers higher cooling capacity and efficiency.
Its class A2L flammability classification allows higher charge amounts than other flammable refrigerants. By following these guidelines and standards, these refrigerants can be used safely despite their flammability classification.
