R422A refrigerant gas is an HFC blend that replaces R22, R502 and HCFC-containing refrigerant blends (R402A, R402B and R409A) in low-temperature commercial and industrial refrigeration systems with direct expansion. It is also used in medium-temperature systems.
Under the F-gas Regulation, the high GWP value of 3,134 (> 2,500) means that R422A can no longer be used after 2020.

R422A refrigerant gas has still served as a replacement in older R22 systems, mainly in refrigeration and freezing systems in retail outlets.
