R407H refrigerant gas is a lower-GWP replacement for R404A and R507A. It is a cost-effective alternative, classified as non-flammable (ASHRAE 23 Class A1). Under the European F-gas Regulation (EU 517/2014), the use of the above-mentioned refrigerants is to be sharply reduced in order to meet CO2 reduction targets by 2030.
In practical applications, R407H matches R404A and R507A in terms of performance, but its GWP is only 1,495 and its use does not require expensive HFO components. R407H refrigerant gas can usually be used in existing systems without major modifications and in many cases can act as a “drop-in” solution.
