The refrigerant R417A gas is an HFC blend that replaces R22. It is compatible with traditional lubricants. In most cases, there is no need to change the type of lubricant when retrofitting.
R417A gas applications and use
R417A gas is best suited to replacing R22 in small stationary air-conditioning systems (<15 kW). It is also suitable, for example, for medium- / high-temperature commercial refrigeration systems and DX chillers.
R417A gas has a lower discharge temperature and pressure than R22, which very probably extends the life of the compressor. In some systems, R417A also enables considerable energy savings.
